A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Bentley College and Regis College, Jocelyne Durrenberger has been caring patients as a nurse practitioner for over 20 years. Originally a mechanical engineer, Jocelyne decided to enter medicine after being inspired by a friend who is a nurse practitioner. “Although I loved the challenges of engineering, I kept hearing the call to become a healer,” she explains. “Now I find it very fulfilling – and fun – working as a nurse practitioner.” Jocelyne choose to work in Pediatrics after seeing how nurses took care of her own triplets, who were born prematurely. “I love seeing families grow and change over the years, and watching the children go from dependent infants to independent young adults.” Jocelyne believes that each child is part of a system which includes school, home, family members – even pets. She works with her patients and families to build a plan of care for health problems, and to build healthy habits as the children grow. During her spare time Jocelyne enjoys being with her husband and (now grown) children, reading mystery and historic novels, Netflix binging, theatre and traveling. She is also the president of CaRMaH (Cat Rescue of Marlborough and Hudson), a feline rescue organization. Her motto: “Kids. Pets. Books. Life is Good.”
