Botox®

Non-surgical treatments, such as injections of Botox, offer a safe, effective method of treating wrinkles in the face. Botox is an excellent non-surgical option for patients desiring an improvement in their facial appearance without downtime.

Botox works by relaxing muscles in the forehead and around the eyes to accomplish the following:

  • Gives you a refreshed, youthful look
  • Helps smooth out frown lines
  • Elevates the eyebrows
  • Decreases wrinkling in the crow’s feet area

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an injection for intramuscular use for temporary improvement of the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. It contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This protein is the same as the active ingredient in Botox. Other common areas of usage include the lateral Crow’s feet area and dynamic forehead wrinkles.

Dysport is an injection targeted around the muscles of the eyelid, eyebrows, and forehead, for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age. It contains the active ingredient Botulinum Toxin similar to Botox and Xeomin.

Injectables

Injectable treatments, or fillers, work by restoring volume to the aging face.

Newer injectables like Restylane® and Juvederm are both composed of hyaluronic acid – a substance naturally found in your skin. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin and soft tissue decreases, giving us an aged appearance. Restylane and Juvederm are used to restore a more youthful facial contour by plumping up the lines and wrinkles they are injected into. Providing immediate results with almost no downtime, these products give you a natural look and feel, without lumps or firmness.

Radiesse® volumizing filler is another wonderful addition to our treatments. It is composed of calcium hyroxyapatite – again, another substance naturally found in the body. Since Radiesse is a thicker filler, it will last longer than Restylane or Juvederm. You will have an in-depth consultation with the surgeon to decide which areas should be addressed, and what filler, or combination of fillers, should be used for your facial renewal. Radiesse also stimulates the production of your body’s own collagen, helping you look younger naturally. Results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.

A new hyaluronic acid filler Voluma® has recently achieved FDA approval for cheek augmentation (also known as malar augmentation). The new proprietary crosslinking technology enhances cheek contour and creates a more youthful profile lasting up to one and a half to two years in some patients. We have found that neuromodulators such as Botox in combination with Voluma produces an exceptional and transformational result in many of our facial filler rejuvenation patients. Schedule a consultation to see if this is the right combination for you.

Spider Vein Treatments

Laser treatment of spider veins is a popular procedure. These tiny broken blood vessels can appear anywhere, but usually occur on the face and on the legs. Laser treatment will help reduce the appearance of the veins, and usually will make them disappear.

Laser Hair Reduction

Reducing or eliminating unwanted hair with a laser has become a popular treatment. Hair can be removed from any area of the body. The results of laser hair reduction can vary. Individuals with light skin and dark hair are the ideal candidates. It is the difference between the pigment in the hair and the skin that allows good uptake of the laser energy by the hair follicles. Therefore, patients with blond, red or gray hair are not good candidates. If you have darker skin with more pigment, you may need a test spot prior to initiating a full treatment course to ensure safe treatments.

Keep in mind that your hair goes through different growth phases, and the laser will only affect actively growing follicles. It is because of this that you will require up to six treatments, performed six to eight weeks apart in order to achieve your desired results. After each treatment you will notice that less hair grows back, but you will need a series of treatments to achieve the best results.
