After experiencing her sister’s journey through pregnancy as a child, Alli decided that becoming a certified nurse midwife (CNM) was the career for her. “After the birth of my first niece, I knew this was my calling,” she explains.
Alli said her goal initially was to become a laborist – an advanced practitioner who specializes in delivering babies at the hospital. “My desire to provide person-centered care and holistic birth drew me into this specialty,” she explains. “However, after my clinical experience early in my career I realized I loved seeing patients in the office just as much as being in the delivery room.”
Alli believes in getting as much input from her patients as possible when providing care. “One of the hallmarks of midwifery is advocating for informed consent, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination,” she explains. “I truly value these three things when providing care for patients.”
Alli loves the continuity of care that she can provide with patients. “I enjoy being able to see patients both annually and month-to-month for their care. Being able to connect with patients and provide care for them throughout their lives is what I love most about my profession.”
In her spare time Alli enjoys being with her husband, her son, and their two dogs. She also enjoys many outdoor hobbies with her family.
