Please note: On December 18, the Endocrinology department at 5 Neponset Street will move to Reliant’s office at the Saint Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center, located on the third floor at 1 Eaton Place, Worcester.
A graduate of the Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Catherine started her career in medicine as a medical assistant. Working alongside her nurse colleagues helped inspire her to become an advanced practitioner. “I wanted to combine both the science and the art of nursing in my approach to working with patients and their families,” she explains. “I believe in sharing the knowledge that I have about a patient’s disease, empowering them to participate actively in their care plan, and optimizing their health outcomes.”
Catherine enjoys working in Endocrinology because it involves many different organ systems and processes in the body. “I especially enjoy working with people who have diabetes to help them to manage their disease and take control of it,” she explains. “I believe my role is to share my knowledge with my patients and offer my support to help them become active participants in their care. I enjoy my role in educating patients about their bodies, their health care, and how to manage their disease effectively.”
In her spare time Catherine loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking with her fiancée Steve, walking, and gardening, as well as spending as much time as possible with her three children.
