Lisa became an advanced practitioner because she wanted to have a career that exposed her to new challenges every day. “Being a nurse practitioner really gives me the opportunity to bring together my love of science and my love of working with people,” she explains. “It’s a wonderful career.” Lisa has enjoyed working with children ever since being employed as a camp counselor as a teenager. “I truly love that pediatrics is not simply about caring for the child, but it is also about caring for the entire family.” Lisa believes it is important to take the time to get to know a patient and their family. “Through building these relationships I can gain a better understanding of what is important to them and what they value. I truly love the relationships I build with families – to me this is the best part of pediatrics.” In her spare time Lisa enjoys outside activities with her husband such as hiking, biking, skiing and spending time on the Cape with her family.
