“Whatever procedure I am performing I like to treat everyone as if they were my own family.”
Dr. Natalie Godfrey has always had a love of science and curiosity about how the human body works. This, along with her interest in helping others, ultimately led her to a career as a plastic surgeon. “What I like most about plastic surgery is being able to return people to form and function after an injury or other problem,” she explains. “Being able to get people back to where they started from is very rewarding for me.”
Dr. Godfrey performs many different types of surgery, including hand and wrist surgery and breast reconstruction in addition to general plastic surgery. “Whatever procedure I am performing I like to treat everyone as if they were my own family,” she explains. “I think about what my mother would want if she was going to see a plastic surgeon for the first time. We often see patients at difficult moments in their lives. That’s why I always strive to treat the patient, not just the problem.”
According to Dr. Godfrey, one of the reasons plastic surgery is challenging is because each case is unique and usually requires some creative thinking to solve. “Each patient, each problem is different,” she explains. “You need to find the right solution for each person, there’s not necessarily one solution for everyone.”
A native New Englander, Dr. Godfrey grew up in New Hampshire and enjoys running, biking, and being outdoors. She also loves reading and spending as much time as possible with her family.

She was great. This was a consult for progressive arthritis and options for treatment. I really appreciated being able to talk with an actual doctor about this problem.
