A graduate of Simmons University and Fitchburg University, Cheri worked as a nurse for 20 years before becoming an advanced practitioner. “I became a nurse practitioner because after being a nurse for some time I felt I had more to offer my patients,” she explains. “The experience I gained over many years working in healthcare gave me the motivation to do more with my career.”
Cheri enjoys working in Internal Medicine because it allows her to develop long-term relationships with her patients and treat all aspects of their health. She has a diverse background that includes wound and ostomy care, including caring for patients with chronic non-healing wounds and patients with urinary and fecal diversion surgeries.
Cheri likes to treat all of her patients as individuals with their own unique needs. She always makes a point to listen closely to the patient’s history and their current medical situation. “Patients know themselves better than anyone else, so I know I need their input to care for them properly,” she explains. “I love the variety of people I get to meet and hearing pieces of their lives. I work hard to provide insight and guide them into healthier lives.”
In her spare time Cheri enjoys staying busy with her husband and three children. She also enjoys hiking, reading, and tending to her flower gardens, as well as playing with the family’s Wheaton Terrier.

Chief complaint was addressed, but additional complaint was addressed poorly. I feel as though my issue was not taken seriously or looked at thoroughly. I was simply told to take more medication.
