Dr. Kerry Bennett is a highly experienced, renowned surgeon specializing in breast disease, breast cancer, and the genetics of cancer. In addition to her decades of experience, leadership and research she takes great pride in supporting patients emotionally and mentally in addition to physically. “What I do all day long is change fear to hope by being direct, honest and kind,” she explains. “I believe that all relationships, especially that of doctor and patient, are based in truth, trust, transparency and teamwork.”
Dr. Bennett has been practicing since 1999 and has been a forerunner in oncoplastic and minimally invasive techniques, scar-free surgery, sentinel lymph node surgery, and is a renowned genetics specialist. She incorporates a wholistic approach with acceptance and advocacy of gender, body image and sexuality. “I deeply care about my patients and truly enjoy educating and empowering them to make the best choices for their health,” she explains.
A third-generation surgeon, Dr. Bennett has watched and participated in the growth and evolution of medicine. Her compassion, empathy and understanding allows her to support her patients and their loved ones as they navigate disease and cancer.
Dr. Bennett is the author of many research articles and books and is a widely sought after speaker on breast disease, cancer and the genetics of cancer. Her book, “The Little Pink Book: What I Say Every Day to my Patients,” is in its fifth edition. She has also written three other books including “Stress Less” to help people live with less anxiety and depression.
While she spent over a decade traveling the world helping others in third world countries she now dedicates herself to giving back right here in Massachusetts where she has lived since she was seven. She has two adult sons, one lively dog and enjoys daily yoga, meditation as well as hiking, kayaking, boating, skiing and traveling.

I was a bit concerned that the summary in MyChart indicated the dr had discussed a lot of things that we did not discuss. Rather, she handed me a stack of papers and her book and said to read them.
