Laura started her career as a nurse, and worked in intensive care for nine years before becoming an advanced practitioner. “When I was a nurse it became clear to me that becoming involved in preventive medicine and early treatment would help benefit my patients and provide better overall health outcomes for them,” she explains. “Becoming an advanced practitioner allowed me to work more closely with my patients and establish long-term relationships with them to meet their health goals.”
At Reliant Laura enjoys working as part of a team that focuses on all of a patient’s health care needs. She has a special interest in preventative medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, and the importance of emotional health for overall well-being. Laura believes that compassion is at the core of healthcare. “I like to foster a healing environment for my patients, with holistic care guided by the best evidence available,” she explains. “I aim to empower my patients by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet their health goals and ultimately live healthier, more meaningful lives.”
Laura says the thing she loves most about her work is that it enables her to develop connections with patients and to get to know them on a personal level. “Every individual has unique health needs – and I feel privileged to be able to partner with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that are the most achievable and appropriate for their unique lifestyle.”
During her spare time Laura loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking, skiing, and running. She also enjoys sewing and spending time with her family
