Maggie started her career as a nurse and decided to become an advanced practitioner so she could do more with her patients. “I enjoy education, promoting health, and teaching my patients about how to enjoy better health,” she explains. “I enjoy getting to know people and answering all their questions, whether it is about their medications, new symptoms they are having, or just hearing about their new grandchild. I get a real feeling of delight and satisfaction knowing that I have made an impact on someone’s life in one way or another.”

One of the reasons Maggie enjoys working in primary care is because it lets her help a broad range of patients. “I enjoy being a well-rounded clinician and providing a range of care for all the diverse problems that patients have, from initial diagnosis and treatment to educating about preventative care,” she explains. “I believe in kindness, patience, a listening ear, realistic expectations, and working closely with my patients.”

Maggie loves the fact that nursing is a noble profession. “The best of us is shown through caring for our patients,” she explains. “Medicine is a challenging profession but the many hours we spend on our education is worth it in the end. Receiving my medical education was not always easy, but it was one of my most fulfilling accomplishments.”

When she is not busy seeing patients Maggie enjoys hiking with her husband, cooking new recipes, trying new restaurants, and running 5ks. She also enjoys watching movies and her favorite TV shows, exercising, collecting Christmas ornaments and traveling. She is also a huge Harry Potter fan.
