A graduate of Anna Maria College and Regis College, Maglenes started her career in medicine over 30 years ago. She became an advanced practitioner so she could be more involved in her patient’s care. “As a critical care nurse in a hospital setting, I experienced the challenges patients were having and then their continued challenges once they were home,” she explains. “This led me to further my education to become a nurse practitioner so I could better guide patients with their complex health issues.”
Maglenes chose to work in Family Practice medicine because it allows her to take care of patients across the entire lifespan. “I love the ability to develop long-lasting, trusting relationships with several generations of families. With my experience in pulmonary medicine and gastroenterology, along with advanced training in obesity medicine, I can provide even more education and guidance for my patients.”
In her practice at Reliant, Maglenes believes that “knowledge is power” when it comes to helping patients. “I encourage my patients to be their own health advocate so we can work together to reach their health and wellness goals. I enjoy educating patients about their chronic conditions and how preventative care can keep them health,” she explains. “I love people and the ability to make a connection with them – empowering them to take control of their own health.”
When she is not busy with patients, Maglenes enjoy spending time with her husband and their five children. She considers herself a “foodie” and enjoys visiting new restaurants with her family. She also enjoys playing golf, traveling, and staying active.
