Justine started her career as a registered nurse, working in acute care. After a time, she wanted to broaden her horizons and spend more time with patients. “Working as an RN, many nurse practitioners left a lasting impression on me. One of the things I noticed about them was their ability to develop and maintain trustworthy relationships with their patients,” she explains. “As I gained more experience, I wanted the opportunity to get to know my patients better and work closely with them in caring for their illnesses. Becoming a nurse practitioner was the best way to accomplish that.”
Justine’s area of expertise is family medicine. “I enjoy meeting families and taking care of everyone in the family unit,” she explains. “This allows me to not only identify and treat acute and chronic illnesses for both children and adults, but also focus on other important areas such as preventative care, mental health and women’s health.”
As a family nurse practitioner, Justine enjoys caring for patients from all different walks of life. “I really enjoy treating a diverse population of patients. I always strive to encourage them to take an active part in their health. I work hard to treat everyone with kindness and respect and educate them as much as possible. This helps me make a lasting impact on a patient’s health and overall life.”
Justine was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, in 2019. In her spare time she enjoys being with her husband, two children and extended family. Justine also enjoys the outdoors and vacationing in Maine.
