Has Social Media Taken Over Your Life?

Karin started her career working in Surgery and Otolaryngology before becoming a nurse practitioner. “I knew my first week in medicine this was what I wanted to do,” she explains. “Along the way my mentors have supported, encouraged and taught me, and helped me become the caregiver I am now.”
Karin enjoys working in Family Medicine because she enjoys teaching patients and helping them learn about preventative care. Karin believes patients shouldn’t visit primary care without leaving with some beneficial information. “I strive to work with patients and families to identify ways they can successfully meet their goals, while understanding their specific needs and limitations,” she explains. “I believe in focusing on positive reinforcement in the smallest of accomplishments. I want people to think about their health and not focus on feeling that they are sick or ill. I work hard to partner with my patients in their care and provide the information they need and work to find manageable ways they can make positive changes in their health.”
When she is not busy with patients Karin enjoys being outside and loves to go paddleboarding during the warmer weather. She also enjoys exploring New England and being with family and friends.

Karin is exceptionally attentive and thorough.
This patient rated the doctor 3.25 out of 5 stars.
She did a thorough intake and did an exam before prescribing treatment as well as carefully considered my history and existing medications which was really positive. I was left a little confused at the end - it was left to me when to take the antibiotic. Also she never actually directly asked me for my decision about the injection provided. I was hesitant and unsure but didn't decline. I wished I had more explanation of the pros/cons. In the end I was relieved I had taken it given my level of pain.
This patient rated the doctor 5 out of 5 stars.
I really didn't want to have to go for any kind of testing to get treatment. I was in pain. She was kind enough to treat me and also explained to me why testing is a good idea for my long term health and wellness. If she hadn't explained that I would have been grumpy about testing. But she explained it all really well and I appreciate her being thorough.
