Back to School: Five Simple School Lunch Ideas Your Children Will Eat Up

Children can get a little bored having a sandwich every day for lunch. Below are some fun ideas for school lunches that children may find to be a delicious alternative. The goal is to have a protein source at each meal along with at least three different food groups. Encourage your children to get involved with making their school lunches as they are they are a more likely to eat something they help prepare!

1. Hard-boiled eggs
Baby carrots & ranch dressing
Whole grain pretzels
Peaches or applesauce

2. Pasta salad with cube chicken or cheese
Granola bar

3. Small bagel & peanut butter
Yogurt Tube
Baby Carrots
Fruit Snacks

4. Turkey & cheddar cheese roll-up
Fresh berries
Homemade trail mix

5. Bean salad
Melon wedges
Whole-grain tortilla chips with salsa
Cubes of reduced-fat cheddar cheese
